RiverBirch Update

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Happy Spring!  Vernal Equinox is Wednesday, tomorrow… and this is Women’s History Month.

Since we last connected in the Fall over events, there’s been a lot in the news and social media about Women and Leadership, and Women and Work.

  • Sheryl Sandberg has published her book, Lean In.Whatever your views are on Sheryl’s stance, the Lean In effort has developed a great resource, in collaboration with Stanford University, with videos on Leadership for women
  • Melissa Maher has called “all hands on deck” at Yahoo,
  • One of the most measured and thoughtful articles, however, is from one of our own Northwest researchers,  Stephanie Coontz, and I recommend it:   “Why Gender Equality Stalled”

About The RiverBirch Project:

We will host a gathering and speaker event later this Spring.   Also, I will have a blog for this project, starting in April which will allow us to share articles, books, resources, and conversation.  I want to hear what YOU think, and also to be able to foster dialogue and conversation between you and the larger interest group, because each has so much to offer the other.

Upcoming Event:

I’d like to highlight an upcoming event sponsored by The Women’s Funding Alliance at Town Hall on March 27th, 7:00-8:30pm:

Fresh Perspective: Women Leading A Changing World

That’s it for Now!  Welcome Spring!
